About The Little Red House
Our mission is to provide exceptional adult day care in a safe and inviting home-like setting with meaningful activities provided by professional and compassionate staff. Here, we celebrate life daily, enriching individuals with physical, cognitive, and social experiences that focus on their strengths rather than their limitations.
Who We Are
The Little Red House is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping adults from the Ottawa, Muskegon, and Kent counties, and the surrounding communities age with dignity—providing them with the care they need, along with meaningful connections and enlivening activities that inspire joy.
Committed to Care
Our registered nurse and specially trained staff provide thoughtful attention to participants while offering relief and comfort for caregivers and families. Our services allow caregivers the freedom and time to work, run errands, see friends or simply recharge as we care for their loved ones.

We opened our doors in September of 2000 as the first adult day care service in the Tri-Cities area.
What communities do you serve?
We serve adults living in Ottawa, Muskegon, and Kent counties and the surrounding communities.
Are you licenses or certified?
The State of Michigan does not require adult day service centers to be licensed, certified, or accredited. However, we are members of the Michigan Adult Day Services Association (MADSA), which partners with local area agencies on aging to promote and ensure the quality of adult day services throughout the state of Michigan.

We are currently open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm.
Are you open every day of the week?
We are currently open 4 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays). While the COVID pandemic presented us with many unprecedented challenges, we have prevailed. Our goal is to eventually return to a 5-day a week schedule.
Is your facility secure?
Our main entrance door is monitored by staff and all exterior doors will sound an alarm upon opening. Our external video cameras also provide added security.

Do I need to reserve a time to tour your facility, or can I walk in?
To protect the privacy of our participants and comply with HIPAA regulations, we cannot accommodate walk-ins. We ask that you book online or call to schedule a tour.

Who is eligible to participate in your program?
We serve adult residents of Ottawa, Muskegon, and Kent counties and the surrounding communities. Many of our participants experience physical, cognitive, or psychosocial limitations and require companionship and stimulating activities. We also serve adults who may be socially isolated and feel more comfortable in a social and supportive setting.
What assistance is provided to participants if needed?
Assistance with activities of daily living such as eating, toileting, mobility, and dispensing medications are provided as needed. Extra services, like personal grooming and bathing are offered for an additional fee.
What if my loved one doesn't want to participate in some of the activities while they are there?
The Little Red House is dedicated to being person-centered and considers the needs and desires of each individual. While we offer a full day of scheduled activities, we respect that individual participants may want to rest or relax instead. Each participant has access to a separate recliner where they can read, nap, or simply observe should they choose not to participate in activities. Our program is designed to provide something for everyone, and everyone has the freedom to exercise choice.
